When you buy a house you have a million things on your mind. Finance, inspections, insurance, moving etc. Did you know that your settlement date is different to the building and pest inspection due date. Quite often we have clients unaware that they only have 7-14 days once the contract is signed to have these pre-purchase inspections carried out. Make sure you check the terms of your contract, your agent specifies the timeframe required. Some people think they have until the settlement date to carry out the inspections. Make sure you that you book your inspection as soon as you sign the contract and don’t get caught out without having the protection of a pre-purchase building and pest inspection carried out on your behalf.
